Tips for a flawless application
Start with clean, moisturized face and neck. Moisturizer will give the powder an even canvas to build on.

The BEST INVESTMENT you will ever make in your beauty collection is a high-quality set of brushes. A good brush is ESSENTIAL to a flawless finish. I cannot stress this enough. Imagine VanGough trying to paint a work of art with a house painters brush. Not a good idea!   A medium density powder brush is recommended.  A flocked sponge can also be used to apply a heavier application.

Your first step should be applying foundation to areas you need extra coverage. The best brush for the job is a Taklon concealer or foundation brush. These brushes hold more powder than a powder brush would, and can apply a concentrated amount just where you want it. Once your spot concealing is done, it's time for your flawless finish.

Tap a small amount of powder into your lid, swirl your powder brush around in the powder and gently tap off any excess powder back into the cap. Start with a light layer all over the entire face and neck. Gently sweep the tip of your powder brush onto your skin. (Don't make the mistake of thinking that because this is a powder, it is like anything else you've ever used before. This is not your grandma's face powder! It is highly pigmented, and will provide as much coverage as a liquid/cream would.) Add your foundation base, layer by layer, until you have achieved the coverage you are looking for. Flawless every time!

Buffing is not recommended or needed.  Buffing forces the powder into your pores and can cause clogging in some instances.

Choosing a color and determining your undertone

Neutral - Neutral based foundations are the most logical choice for many skin tones. An even mixture of cool and warm, neutrals will pick up on your specific skin tone, and build on that. Mineral make-ups unique properties allows it to enhance your skin tone, not mask it.

Cool - Some skin tones have a definite pink/reddish tone. These individuals will benefit from a cool foundation. The key to a flawless look is to stay true to your individual colors. Don't try to mask and change your natural beauty, enhance it!
 
Warm - A warm base consists of a yellow undertone. Many ethnic groups fall under this category.

If you are unsure which category you fall under. Take a white piece of paper, lay it on a table, and lay your arm on top. (The best lighting to use is natural sunlight. Fluorescent and light bulb lighting will cast an artificial color.) If you are a definite cool (pink) or warm (yellow), it will be obvious. If you can't decide, your best bet will be a neutral.

Directions for application
Work in small areas. Since there are no added oils, it will dry down faster then a traditional creme foundation. Depending on preference, can be applied with a foundation brush, sponge, or fingertips. Can be used as a spot concealer in conjunction with the powder foundation.

Setting/Finishing Powders

Translucent Matte
Translucent Matte is the finishing touch to a flawless look.  Minimizes the look of larger pores, gently absorbs excess oils, and acts as a mattiefier.  Can be applied as often as needed without ever caking or feeling heavy.  More than just a face powder, a face perfecter!  Also great as a "no color" foundation for those days you want a natural look.

Radiance
